Stanley Harry Hawley, né à Ilkeston, Derbyshire, le 17 mai 1867, où il est mort le 13 juin 1916, est un compositeur et pianiste anglais.
Stanley, le plus jeune d'une fratrie de quatre enfants, a suivi l'essentiel de sa formation musicale à la Royal Academy of Music de Londres. Il est devenu compositeur, pianiste et organiste et a occupé divers postes administratifs, notamment comme secrétaire de la Royal Philharmonic Society.
Les mélodrames et les récitations avec accompagnement musical sont peut-être le genre le moins en vogue de la musique classique au cours des cent dernières années. Hawley a été assez prolifique dans sa composition et a clairement réussi. Certaines des compositions ont été orchestrées et destinées au piano solo. Avec un bon acteur, beaucoup d’entre elles méritent d’être relancés dans le cadre d’un concert de chambre. Il y a des enregistrements de certaines de ses œuvres.
