Charles Wuorinen (né le 9 juin 1938 à New York) est un compositeur américain.
Il est connu comme prolifique auteur de musique contemporaine sérielle. Il reçut en 1970 le Prix Pulitzer de musique, et a aussi reçu le Prix MacArthur.
Il fait partie de l'American Academy of Arts and Letters et de l'American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Les chefs d'orchestre Christoph von Dohnányi et Michael Tilson Thomas lui ont commandé des œuvres. Depuis 2011, il compose un opéra pour le Teatro Real basé sur un livret d'Annie Proulx, Brokeback Mountain, prévu pour janvier 2014.
